Large Pewter Plate, Nathaniel Austin, Charlestown, Massachusetts, probably last quarter 18th century, circular plate with single reeded brim, the initials "SC" impressed on the brim, impressed maker's cartouche and hallmarks, and the name "Samuel Clemens" engraved on the reverse, (wear), dia. 13 1/2 in. the surface with areas of pitting, scratches, sight dents.
