Tall Brass Candlestick, Continental or Middle East, 16th or 17th century, elongated cylindrical candlecup over upper and lower baluster columns flanking a shallow mid-drip pan with flower blossom punch decoration, extra wide round dish base with similar flower punch designs, (minor dents and pitting, mid-drip pan slightly warped), ht. 21 3/4, base dia. 10 3/8 in. Note: Candlesticks with extra wide bases were reputed to have been used on the carpeted floors of tents.
