Phonendoscope and Four Monaural Stethoscopes, the Phonendoscope patd. 1894 and 1897, stamped Bazzi-Bianchi Bowles, Sole Agents for G.P.Pilling & Son, Philadelphia , with nickel-cased diaphragm and two gutta-percha earpieces, in circular case, dia. 2 1/2 in.; two metal monaural stethoscopes, with trumpet-shaped chest-pieces, one stamped Bell & Croydon, London , the other Holdborn Co., London ; one of black Bakelite; the fourth of gutta-percha, with flat chest-piece. Note: A Phonendoscope is a stethoscopic device for intensifying auscultatory sounds.
