Three Quassia Cups, turned wood, one with label on base Quassia Amara Tonic Cup. Add water and use it as Often as You Please. Munson & Co., High Holborn, London , hts. 4, 5 and 7 in. Note: Producing an intense bitter with no discernible odor, cups of Quassia wood were widely-used during the 19th century for their medicinal properties. Water left in the cup for even a few minutes leaches a bitter tonic from the fibrous wood.
