Chalcedony and Gem-set Brooch, Iradj Moini, c. 1980, designed as an elegantly wrapped chalcedony, in pink tourmaline cabochons and oval-shape pink topaz and pink pastes, surmounted by a bow, colorless paste highlights, white metal mount, 2 x 1 1/2 x 3 in., signed. Note: Iradj Moini trained as an architect, and first designed for Oscar de la Renta. He mixes precious and semi-precious materials to create limited production unique and exotic pieces. Both the Louvre and the Guggenheim Bilbao exhibit his work. A few small stones reinforced with clear glue. Some small nicks visible under magnification.
