French Tellurium, late 19th century, with 3-inch metal globe credited E. Bertaux, Paris, Rue Serpente 227 , brass Moon on axis, calibrated half-meridian ring, candle holder, hand-cranked mechanism driving geared arm, Earth, Moon and brass dial with twelve hourly divisions, on walnut-veneered base with inset compass and elliptical enameled table depicting the cardinal points, seasons, equinoxes, Gregorian and Zodiacal calendars, their names and sigils, lg. 26 in., (sticking, lacking compass needle and glass, eight half-gores and small parts of three others). Defects as noted, some wear on enamel, gores incomplete.
