Jean Helion (French, 1904-1987) Vallon de Port Saillo Signed and dated "H. 60 / Helion" in pen l.r., inscribed and titled "Vallon" l.l. and "...This is an original watercolor / painted and signed by me. / Jean Helion" on the reverse, a label from Haley & Steele, Boston, affixed to the paper backing. Ink and gouache on paper, sheet size 9 3/4 x 12 3/4 in. (24.8 x 32.4 cm), framed. Condition: Crease, pinholes to u.r. and u.l. corner. N.B. We wish to thank Jacqueline Helion for her assistance in cataloguing this lot. Firm crease along bottom 1 3/4 in. of the sheet, not affecting composition. Pen inscription "This is an original watercolor..." is written on the flap of the folded sheet.
