Two Historical Framed Woven Silk Bookmark Ribbons, probably America, c. 1865, one ribbon depicting a portrait of Ulysses S. Grant surrounded by a garland of flowers and inscribed "Richmond 1865, Lieutenant General U.S. Grant" with American eagle and shield and flags, the other similar in design with a portrait of Lincoln with inscriptions "Assassinated at Washington 14 April 1865," and "The Late Lamented President Lincoln," (fading, one stained), 8 3/4 x 2, 10 x 2 in. excluding tassels, housed in period molded giltwood frames. Provenance: Edna Greenwood collection. the Licoln memorial ribon with several small brown stains near top and bottom.
