George III-style Walnut Mantel Clock, London, late 19th century, with double fusee movement striking on the hour, back of movement engraved with tulips and maker's name "Henricus Jones," silvered chapter ring with day aperture, on gilt ground, with angel mask and scroll spandrels, case with glass to all four sides, flat pediment applied with two rosettes, top lifting handle, on flattened ball feet, ht. 17 in. In the opinion of Mr. Robert Cheney, Skinner''s clock specialist, this clock is a late 19th century copy of an 18th century clock, rather than a period 18th century clock. Case with some finish wear (especially at base and feet), with some lifting and shrinkage of veneers. Winder and small pendulum present.
