German, 19th century. Royal Vienna squat cabinet vase displaying the hand painted portraiture of a young woman with brown curly hair wearing a maroon head scarf and white low-cut dress in a central medallion with gilt border executed and signed by Wagner. The portrait is framed with an elaborate display of beaded diaper, scrolling acanthus and blossoms raised and formed by hand then covered with shiny gold. The vase covered with burgundy lustre and to the reverse elaborate design with scrolling foliage, beading and cartouche enclosing diaper. Base is marked with the beehive logo in blue and 'Grace', 'Germany' and '38586' written in red. There is also a gold flower shaped mark under the glaze. Height 5.6", diameter of base 2".
