English Needlework Sampler, "Ann Ballard Her Work Finished in the Fourteenth Year Of Her Age In The Year Of Our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred And Ninety Eight," wrought in silk threads on a wool gauze ground, with rows of alphabets, First Commandment, a poem, bands of flowers, crowns, potted plant and birds, (minor scattered background losses), 16 x 13 in. Silk threads still pretty bright, background is lightly toned, about five small losses to background, scattered light spots.
