Mahogany Hourglass Shelf Clock by Joseph Ives, Plainville, Farmington, Connecticut, c. 1839-41, free-standing columns flanking the "hour glass" shaped case, 9 1/2 in. brass dial with Roman numerals, painted tablet with town center and meeting house, 30-hour brass time and strike movement with direct fusees on the winding barrel, lantern pinions, countwheel strike and iron leaf spring mounted inside the top of the case powering the clock, ht. 23 in.
