Attributed to William Shayer (British, 1787-1879) Cattle and Drovers Heading to a Stream Unsigned, identified on a presentation plaque. Oil on canvas, 13 1/2 x 11 3/4 in. (34.2 x 29.8 cm), framed. Condition: Lined, scattered retouch, fine craquelure. The lining is adhered with glue or resin. Retouch is some scattered small areas as well as some repairs (long horitonal and vertical lines on the right side of the composition). Minute scattered losses. Craquelure throughout with a few areas a lifting. The work would probably benefit from a gentle cleaning.
