Burns, Robert (1759-1796), Poems Chiefly in the Scottish Dialect , Edinburgh: printed for the author and sold by William Creech, 1787, first Edinburgh edition, first issue, with "Boxburgh" instead of "Roxburgh" on page xxxvii, "Addenda" at page xlvi, and "stinking" instead of "skinking" on page 263, engraved portrait of Burns after Nasmyth on frontis, calf, slipcased, 8vo, (rebacked, with newspaper clippings and engravings inserted throughout, and pasted down to eight pages of flyleaves, light toning and some offset, owner's name inscribed to titlepage, bookplate); together with a small manuscript list purportedly in Burns's hand, ten lines, possibly a laundry list, 4 by 3 1/2 in., on laid paper.
