Franz Xaver Wolf (Austrian, 1896-1990) Portrait of a Cardinal in His Study Signed "F. X. Wolf" l.l. Oil on panel, 23 1/2 x 19 1/2 in. (59.7 x 49.5 cm), framed. Condition: Retouch, varnish inconsistencies, scattered surface rubs, surface grime. The retouch is scattered dashes and glazes. The inconsistencies of the varnish are visible only under uv and are scattered throughout. Perhaps the work was partially or lightly cleaned not too long ago? The work might benefit from cleaning.
