Jeweler-designed Multiple Gemstone "Planet" Ring, William de Silva, Kandy, Ceylon, 1959, the hand-worked 18kt gold dome setting with pierced scrollwork shoulders supporting a central prong-set oval-cut sapphire surrounded clockwise by one bezel-set stone each of emerald, king topaz, cat's-eye, ruby, diamond, citrine, pearl, and yellow sapphire, each representing astronomical elements or bodies, the underside of the dome featuring a sun head, size 6. Supporting bill of sale accompanies the lot. Sapphire is a doublet.
