Antoine-Louis Barye (French, 1796-1875), Bronze Figure of a Lion Devouring an Alligator, the lion biting the alligator in the neck, and crushing it with right front paw, on ovoid base, with dark brown patination, and mold incised signature, lg. 9 1/4, base wd. 3 5/8, ht. 3 1/4, with associated rectangular marble plinth, 11 x 5 1/4 in. good.
