Majolica Olla and Stand, Italy, 19th century, modeled with two loop handles, polychrome decorated with central reserve portrait framed within a ground of flowers and scrolled foliage, ht. 23 3/4 in.; the stand with cantered sides and similar ground decoration, dia. 16 in. Olla: top rim with typical glaze loss and minor chipping; footrim half missing glaze; irregular 7" firing crack in a Y shape starting at foot; one scroll at the base of a hande mostly missing; some glaze loss to handle edges and along raised banding. Stand: minor areas of glaze loss.
