English Silk Needlework Picture, 18th/19th century, in rectangular giltwood frame with oval black and gold verre eglomise mat, depicting an ecclesiastic scene of a woman and a man at a well beside a tree, a village in the distance, sight dia. 15 1/2, frame 21 1/2 x 18 1/2 in. Needlework with age typical overall fading. Tear in silk at top between man''s raised hand and lady''s face. Further tear to silk at center right side. Frame with losses, flaking, restorations to gesso, and gold paint.
