Pair of Venetian Baroque Revival Ebonized Blackamoor Hall Figures, each figure holding a large clam shell atop his head, with Moorish dress and mother-of-pearl inset eyes, each on a pedestal carved with floral swags, corbels and a stepped plinth with outset corners, ht. 77 in. Variety of repaired pieces, mostly simple re-glues to the shells, bases and corners; carved in many pieces, so areas that appear to have shrinkage cracks are in fact pieces that are put together; no evidence of polychrome or gilt highlights.
