Charles Magnus, lithographer and publisher (Washington D. C., 19th Century) Harewood Hospital, Washington, D.C. , 1864, identified in inscriptions below. Chromolithograph on paper, sheet size 13 3/4 x 21 1/2 in., in a later molded giltwood frame. Condition: Margins 1 in. or more, light stain u.c., minor margin tears. Note: This view shows one of Washington, D. C.'s numerous Civil War hospitals. It was one of several Walt Whitman visited, and the last military hospital kept up by the government at the time. Not laid down, paper slightly rippled right and left edges, 1/2 in. tear at l.c. margin edge, 3/4 in. tear l.l. margin edge.
