Mahogany Reeded Pillar and Scroll Shelf Clock by Jerome, Thompson & Company, Bristol, Connecticut, c. 1826-27, the scroll-top case with brass urn finials surmounting the reeded columns capped by acanthus leaf capitals flanking the glazed door with two-section reverse-painted tablet, printed maker's label stating Improved Clocks, Manufactured and Sold by Jerome, Thompson & Co., Bristol, Connecticut , 12 in. painted wooden dial with Roman numerals, thirty-hour wooden movement with solid pinions, countwheel strike, two cast iron weights and pendulum, (minor repairs), ht. 37 1/2 in. Minor relining on numerals, in-painting on original middle glass, one urn finial is an old replacement, old surface on case.
