Lacquered Papier-mache Zachary Taylor Campaign Snuff Box, c. 1848, polychrome profile portrait of Taylor above the inscription "Gen. Zach: Taylor" and flanked by campaign slogans "Old Rough and Ready" and "The Hero of the War with Mexico.," (imperfections), dia. 3 1/2 in. Several old losses around box top and bottom edges, 1/2 in. vertical crack on cover edge, cracks around cover edge.
