Attributed to Johann Franciscus Ermels (German, 1621-1693) Figures in a Bucolic Landscape Unsigned, inscribed "F. Ermels fece...90" on the stretcher. Oil on canvas, 17 1/2 x 13 5/8 in. (44.4 x 34.5 cm), framed. Condition: Repaired tear l.l., scattered retouch, minor surface grime, craquelure. Provenance: A private Connecticut estate. The retouch is scattered dashes and strokes. The craquelure is stable. The work is executed on pre-primed canvas.
