Edwardian Star Sapphire, Opal, and Diamond Brooch, centering a high-domed cabochon sapphire measuring approx. 15.60 x 16.00 x 14.40 mm, framed by buff-top opals and old mine-cut diamond melee rays, platinum and 18kt gold mount, lg. 2 in., (crack to one opal and losses to some tips). Provenance: Descendants of the Walters Family, Baltimore, Maryland. See lot 530 for further history. Cabochon grayish in color. Double star is fairly sharp, but off center. One opal tablet with crack and loss, stable. One platinum ray separating from base. Small areas of solder.
