Victorian Mahogany Metamorphic Library Chair, c. 1870, rectangular backrest with fluted and block uprights and shaped splat carved with C-scrolls and raised paneling, folding forward to reveal four gilt-tooled leather treads, on turned legs, seat ht. 18 in. Overall very good; bottom edge of highest tread (unfolded) with heavy wear due to floor (when folded); good carving; one piece of paneling loose (not present at time of cataloging).
