Sterling Repousse Basket, Philadelphia, late 19th century, ovoid, with domed foot, chased and embossed all over with dense foliates on stippled ground, with grapevine crabstock handle, lg. 10 1/4 in., approx. 18 troy oz. Compressed onto stem of foot somewhat, with two breaks to metal running along inner circumference of stem/foot, one approx. 1", the other approx 1/4". Likely with monogram removal to plain oval to interior.
