Italian Renaissance Carved Walnut Chest of Drawers, composed of 16th/17th century elements, rectangular to with chip-carved and gadrooned edge above a case fitted with three long drawers carved with grapevines, quatrefoils and stippling, with scrolled apron and short bracket feet, ht. 40, wd. 54, dp. 22 in. Moderate worming thoughout; top with heavy shrinkage damage and remnants of canvas glued down to top; slight cocking to case; base and feet with heavy wear and losses; good look overall; likely an old case with re-carved drawer fronts; age typical additional minor defects.
