Seven Sterling Matchsafes, late 19th/early 20th century, one English, six American, including Whiting lobed, Whiting floral engraved and reeded, and four unmarked, decorated with fleur-de-lys, engraved bird, rocaille scrolls, and Aphrodite rising from the sea, respectively; sold together with a silverplate pig-form, (8 items total), lg. 1 3/8 to 2 3/4 in., approx. 5 troy oz. total weighable silver. minor age/surface wear. Aphrodite example with a few light pinpoints. Plated pig with some plate wear, and looseness to lid latch.
