Scipio Tadolini (Italian, 1822-1892), Italian Marble Figure of a Slave Girl, signed "Tadolini" and dated 1859, the seminude standing figure wearing tasseled cap, chained to a tree trunk, on round marble socle, figure ht. 29, socle ht. 6 1/2 in. Overall very clean and attractive with good original surface; no old repairs or losses; small flea bites/very small pits to: rt. temple, rt. side of nose; upper and lower neck; rt. forearm; two to left side of body; navel; left hip and to backs of legs. Circular base with five large chips to edge and minor chipping to lower base.
