Nathaniel S. Finney scrimshaw walrus tusk, ca. 1870 , fully engraved with three portraits of the famed Miss Lotta Crabtree, the sensation of American stage. Lotta was known for playing boys roles including Harry Racket . She had the habit of wearing male clothes and smoking cigars as well as "wearing her skirts shorter than was the style". The base is inscribed By N.S. Finney above a floral and leaf border, 15 3/4" h.
