John E. Nicholls (British, 20th Century) Lot of Two Ornate Still Lifes: Arrangement with Lilies, 1951, and Flowers /Still Life with Roses, Bluebells and Poppies, 1952. Both signed and dated "John E. Nicholls..." l.r., the latter identified on a label on the reverse. Oil on board, 24 1/4 x 20 in. (61.5 x 50.7 cm), framed. Condition: Varnish inconsistencies, craquelure, the former with retouch to the craquelure. The latter work with scattered dots and dashes of retouch to the craquelure predominately to the u.r., l.r., and l.l. quadrants.
