(30.5 x 40.6 cm), framed. Condition: Surface grime, varnish inconsistencies. Provenance: Through the estate of the artist. N.B. Alfredus Williams was an Afro-Caribbean self-taught artist born in Dominica, West Indies. He is best known for his genre scenes and landscapes of his native region executed in a detailed primitive-style. The work appears to have been varnished within the frame (i.e. not to the edges).
