Attributed to Charles L. Fenton (American, c. 1808-1877) Portrait of Stephen Hastings Bennett of Boston and Brighton, 1833 Unsigned, identified in information affixed to the reverse. Oil on canvas, 30 x 25 1/4 in. (76.4 x 64.0 cm), framed. Condition: Repaired puncture l.r., scattered retouch, surface grime, craquelure. N.B. The Stephen Hastings Bennett School in Brighton, Massachusetts, is named for the sitter. The land on which the school sits was donated by Mr. Bennett.
