Attributed to Benjamin Blyth (Massachusetts, 1746-1786) Pair of Portraits of a Late 18th Century Couple. Unsigned, the backing cardboard inscribed "J. Gardner Boston New England." Pastel on laid paper, 18 x 14 in., in period molded giltwood frames. Condition: Minor stain and tear left edge of woman, small crack on glass of gentleman l.l. the works on paper are nailed to stretcher on top of a sheet of canvas, but does not appear to be laid onto the canvas, stain on woman u.l. is about 1 x 1/2 in., tear on left edge is about 3/4 lg.
