Stack of Eight Round Painted Pantry Boxes, America, mid-19th century, lapped seam and hoop constructed boxes, painted in shades of red, green, blue, and yellow, one small dark blue-painted box cover incised with a figure of a whale, (minor wear), ht. ranging from 3-6 1/2 in., dia. from 6-14 in. the paint has been on all for some time, original paint on all except small orange over old blue paint, small green is over earlier gray.
