Josephine Paddock (American, 1885-1964) Candle-Light Hymn , alternatively titled Spinet from 1871 Signed "JPaddock" u. l., titled and inscribed "by J. Paddock" in the artist's hand on the reverse, a 1939 label from The New Haven Paint and Clay Club, Inc., 38th Annual Exhibition, and a period label from Grand Central Art Galleries, New York affixed to the reverse. Oil on canvas, 40 x 40 in. (101.6 x 101.6 cm), framed. Condition: Puncture u.l., surface grime. Provenance: A New York philanthropic Jewish organization.
