Rare New Jersey gumwood tall case clock, ca. 1780 , with a sarcophagus bonnet enclosing an 8-day brass works with name boss, inscribed Aaron Lane, Elizth. Town , above a waist with an arched door, resting on a base with stepped bracket feet, 88 1/2" h. A nearly identical example is pictured in Drost Clocks and Watchmakers of New Jersey , pg. 138.
