Needlework Memorial/Adams Family Register Sampler, "Wrought by Lucy Adams Aed 12," Lunenburg, Worcester County, Massachusetts, "Wrought in 1819," the memorial stitched with multicolored silk threads on a linen ground, the top register centered with a coffin below the inscription "Luther Ad died Nov 20," flanked by four trees and the number "187," over rows of alphabets and the names and current ages of Lucy and her twelve siblings, surrounded on three sides with a sawtooth border, all flanked by a flowering vine, (minor stitch losses), 16 1/4 x 16 1/2 in. , unframed. Note: A genealogical record indicates that Lucy and her siblings were the children of Jonathan (b. March 5 1759, Groton, MA) and Elizabeth (Gary) Adams (b. Feb. 26, 1764, Lunenburg, MA). They were married Dec. 13, 1781, and their thirteen children were all born in Lunenburg, Massachusetts.
