Decoupage Decorated Pine Box, probably Ashby, Massachusetts, early 19th century, rectangular box with hinged lid with brass handle, the top and sides are decorated with applied black and white woodcut prints from periodicals with scenes of domestic life and religious, patriotic, and animal motifs, the interior lid with applied cut-out pious and Temperance related verses, the compartmented interior lined with red velvet, the name "Mary M. Rumrill/Ashby" is indistinctly inscribed on the front of the lid, (minor wear), ht. 4 7/8, wd. 14 3/4, dp. 9 7/8 in.
