Painted and Decorated Classical Settee, Baltimore, Maryland, c. 1840, the olive-green ground paint is decorated with gilt, green and orange leafage and foliate devices divided into three panels on the crest accented by gilt striping and painted simulated ormolu mounts above the rolled upholstered arms with similar painted embellishments over the cane seat and seat rail, which has painted green and red bell-flowers and leaves over turned tapering legs, the painted embellishment appears original, ht. 31, seat ht. 16, lg. 76, dp. 20 in.
