Achille & Pier Giacoma Castglioni Arco floor lamp Flos, Italy, c. 1962 Rectangular white-veined marble base issuing an adjustable arc of stainless steel and a hemispherical shade with perforated circles for ceiling light diffusion and interior bulb directional shield, paper label, ht. 95, 78 3/4 reach, base ht. 21 3/4, wd. 6 3/4, dp. 9 1/, shade dia. 11 1/2 in. Reference: Lights from 1960 to present. This lamp was originally intended for dining areas. It has three separate height adjustments and can be moved relatively easily by inserting a broomstick in the hole provided in the marble base. Design included in the 1972 "Italy: New Domestic Landscape" exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
