Cherry Tall Case Clock with Dial, "R. Whiting Winchester" (Connecticut), c. 1813, the pierced crest flanked by turned and striped plinths that support the three urn-shaped original finials above the glazed door that opens to a painted and decorated wooden dial centering a red and green floral arrangement in a gilt bowl, and including the gilt and floral theme in the spandrels, flanked by turned columns with incised black striping, the waist includes a thumb-molded door flanked by quarter-engaged columns, also spirally striped, with brass caps and bases, on a base ending in a shaped skirt and squared feet, old dark surface, (movement replaced), ht. 91 1/2 in.
