Federal Cherry Desk/Bookcase, southeastern New England, c. 1800, the top section with a flat molded cornice above two hinged doors with recessed panels opening to two adjustable shelves set into a base with fall front opening to an interior of central pinwheel carved prospect door and drawer flanked by three drawers and four valanced compartments separated by double beading on case of four scratch beaded graduated drawers on bracket feet, old brasses, refinished, (restored), ht. 78, wd. 41, dp. 20 1/2 in. Note: Inscription in interior reads "RN...Claremont, NH."
