Attributed to Jacques François Joseph Swebach-Desfontaines (French, 1769-1823). "Port", graphite on wove paper laid down on later white sheet, apparently unsigned. Finely rendered sketch depicting many figures in a port, some on horseback, with a structure at left rising up in background and a faint impression of a second structure to right background. Likely original paper mat backing with artist name and title mounted to interior of frame out of view. Framed approximately 16.375" x 23.5", sheet size approximately 3.875" x 4.875".
