African School (possibly Zimbabwean), 20th century. A pair of sculptural tree trunk sections each finely carved and polished to front depicting a male and female tribal elder's face, the woman with hair wrapped and piled atop her head and the man with feathered headdress. Apparently unsigned. Male approximate height 25", female approximate height 23". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Dr. & Mrs. Calvin Wayne McLarin, Atlanta, Georgia.
