Chinese, 19th century. Chinese Export black lacquer and gilt decorated work or sewing table with shaped rectangular top opening an intricate fitted interior with an arrangement of compartments and fittings over slide out work surface on lyre shaped supports united by a stretcher terminating on stylized claw feet. The whole decorated with Chinoiserie scenes; figures amid pavilions and pagodas, rockwork, landscape, foliage and cloud scroll. Approximate height 27.12", width 25.5", depth 17.5".
