Chinese, Jiajing Period mark (1522-1566), likely first half 20th century. A Ming Dynasty style wucai decorated porcelain octagonal yuhuchunping pear shaped vase comprising an eight sided foot surmounted by pear shaped body decorated with band of lappets under stylized green wave field reserving shaped cartouches bearing dragons chasing flaming pearls amid cloud scrolls, the constricted neck with bands of ruyi heads, lotus flowers, and leiwen under the flaring mouth with leaf tips, the underside left unglazed. Marked in underglaze to shoulder with 6 character running script mark from the Jiajing imperial reign. Approximate height 14", diameter 8".
