French, late 19th / early 20th century. A mated pair of heavy figural steel andirons or firedogs, each having a large flambeau finial surmounted to turned shaft with bulbous body, with figural base depicting face of a putto blowing air out of its mouth, with stepped and shaped plinth base, apparently unmarked. Overall approximately 23.5" x 11.5" x 23".
