GEORGE III STERLING MEAT PLATTERS, LONDON, C. 1784-1790, SET OF THREE, L 13 1/2" & 14 1/2":Sterling silver meat platters, each is oval shape with gadrooned rim, matching engraved coat of arms at two places on the rim; including 2 by James Young, hallmarks on the reverse, date letter o for 1789-90, L.13 1/2" x 10", and 1 with no apparent maker's mark, hallmarks on the reverse, date letter lower case I for 1784-85, L.14 1/2" x 10 1/2". All bear later hallmarks at the rim, just above engraving, including mark for retailer's William Bruford & Son Ltd., date letter K for 1945. Totaling approximately 92.4 troy oz.
